Former principal dancer Kevin O'Hare retired from the stage 20 years ago and was appointed company manager at Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2001. Subsequently he served as company manager and then administrative director of The Royal Ballet, and has been the company's director, succeeding Monica Mason, since 2012. Shale Wagman made history in July 2019 when he performed James in La Sylphide with the Mariinsky Ballet in St Petersburg - the youngest dancer to be invited to dance a principal role as a guest artist with the company.

A short film featuring the Cuban dancer, Mario Sergio Elías, who dances with Acosta Danza and performed with the company at Sadler's Wells last summer.
Born in Leiria, Portugal, Antonio Casalinho is an outstanding young dancer who has trained at the Academia Annarella since he was 8 years old. This short film includes clips of him in class and also performing James' variations in Maina Gielgud's production of La Sylphide Act II.
Wiener Staatsballett principal Nikisha Fogo, who talks about her training at the Royal Swedish Ballet School and subsequently in London at the Royal Ballet School; her career to date working with artistic director Manuel Legris in Vienna and her move to San Francisco Ballet at the start of the new season.
